Opening the glass box - Climatic Adaptation of the Office Building Typology in the Mediterranean

This research aimed at contextualizing the office building typology to the local climatic conditions of Israel. In the light of the observations gathered throughout this research, the dynamic Open Air Office approach is brought forward as a unique opportunity for the office building typology to reconnect to the local Israeli climate and substantially improve both performance and comfort.It explored and analyzed the unique opportunity in the Mediterranean climate to open up the building’s envelope towards the outdoors throughout different periods of the year with correlation to the changing internal office layouts.
